This year marked the fifth anniversary of the Lagos Leather Fair and it was sure bigger and better than the last Made-in-Africa never sounded better as eyes light up to the incredible leather works that are for sure made in Africa. A first of it’s kind, bringing together indegenous and international exhibitors and attendees alike, the Lagos Leather Fair is annual showcase of West Africa’s leading leather brands. The initiative by Mrs. Femi Olayebi, Creative Director Femi Handbags, seeks to improve on the narrative ‘Made-in-Africa’ as well as increase the value chain of leather works in Africa.

This year’s event took place between the 10th and 12th of June at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. Starting off with the official opening and Cocktail event, the fair progressed the next day with sales, exhibition of leather works, live atelier and masterclasses. Despite the heavy downpour on day one, the fair was a hit as attendees trouped in and out non-stop through out the days of the fair.
