Oshey Baddest.

I’ve never clubbed before and even though this isn’t clubbing, it’s a night of gbedu and I’m jamming up with the biggest stars in Nigeria. ‘Egbon, I haff hammer gon’.

It’s the Pepsi Corporate Elite 10th Edition and everyone is in a party mood… everyone except the Insigna team and I. We are here to create stunning memories for future referencing; it’s what we do, it’s what we love.

The sound is amazing, the lighting is perfect and all that we do is create stunning imagery for the world. Act after act, the crowd is kept entertained non-stop. Coupled with the Corporate Elite celebration is the 10th Anniversary celebration of Musician and Producer extraordinare J-Martins and the 50th birthday celebration of Mr Paul Okoye aka Oga Pauloo, CEO Upfront & Personal and One Africa Music Fest.

Shortly before J-Martins begins his anniversary performance, an Introductory clip is played and the message strikes a chord; Being Popular isn’t all there is to being relevant or successful. Being impactful and affecting those around you is the key thing, Popularity could be an added bonus but if you can influence those around you, then You’re successful.

Oga Pauloo is also an amazing personality. Simple man who’s blessed many lives, his many contributions are the fast tracks that have been pushing Nigerian Music globally. While he’s not exactly the most popular, his role in shaping and promoting the Nigerian Music Industry cannot be under-emphasized.

Both men aren’t constantly ‘billboarded’ or interviewed but their silence speaks volumes and that goes to prove what Mr. Kola said “Being popular and having everyone putting their nose in our business yet not really getting what we stand for isn’t exactly what we gear for but getting the right audience who subscribe to your vision and understand the service you’re rendering; that’s what’s important”.

As #TeamInsigna enters her room in Eko hotel, the memories are fresh and the tiredness is visible on everybody’s face, the experience was worth it and lessons have been learnt; Popularity isn’t everything: Relevance is.
